Angels pitcher Nick Adenhart killed in Hit and Run car accident
Today 22 year old pitcher Nick Adenhart of the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim was found dead in a hit and run car accident today in California. 2 others were killed by the suspected drunk driver who fled the scene of the accident but was later apprehended. The minivan ran a redlight at 12:30 AM local time and struck the vehicle Adenhart was in. The driver was a 22 year old with a suspended license because of a prior drunk driving conviction. Adenhart was killed just hours after his season debut where he pitched 6 shut out innings over the A’s last night. The Angels’ scheduled game for Thursday was postponed and has not yet been rescheduled. Ballparks all across the league are having a moment of silence in honor of Adenhart’s passing.
